Liz is a crafts woman - chair maker producing distinctive furniture of local greenwood from the small woods of the West Wales coast. Also using locally found quality recycled timbers, Liz uses traditional hand crafting methods - with pole-lathe, shave-horse, and traditional hand tools. Natural Chairs ethos is to practice minimal environmental impact and sustainability, and demonstrate that contemporary styles can be achieved with traditional methods.

Commissions are very welcome. Liz will make items with character, that where possible suit colour scheme, dimensions, and, with discussion, suit the individuality of the user. See her portfolio in the gallery page of past commissions and find that Natural Chairs products are:

  • original handcrafted chairs and small furniture

  • freeform style and contemporary designs in natural wood

  • distinctive and unique, with modern heirloom appeal

  • bespoke designs for handmade children’s chairs

  • emphasising the intrinsic elegance of grain, line and form of ash, yew, elm, etc.

  • Welsh wood sourced from the Ceredigion area – New Quay and Llangrannog

  • made of greenwood or recycled quality timbers

  • using traditional and ancient artisan methods, and upholstered items are now possible

Please feel free to contact Liz Child if you wish to enquire about commissioning or purchasing a piece.
Alternatively, some items are available to purchase at Ecco Wales.
